So excited to come home after a long day of shows and see that the new EP from Infinity Shred was not only released……..but released on Spotify. Yes…I am addicted to Spotify. It is probably how I find out about 80% of the new music I post on here and on These Old Colors Radio.

I heard Infinity Shred’s first single off this EP entitled “Wayfinder.” It blew me away. My roommate and bandmate, Mason, was in the apartment and I had to show him. I don’t get that excited about most music. This was a true revelation of magic in the form of audio. The buildup of the song to the double bass and guitar chugs sent chills through my body. I was hooked, but unfortunately I couldn’t find anything about Infinity Shred or more music. Trust me…I looked. But today is a new a day – and Infinity Shred has released a 5 song ep that is just as good as Wayfinder.

Listen to this album and listen to it all the way through. The songs complete eachother. The whole ep is worth listening to possibly all day.

“Through years of friendship forged on a shared love of skateboarding and screen printing, Damon Hardjowirogo and George Stroud originally founded the band in 2007 as Starscream. With the 2011 release of the final Starscream LP, “Future, Towards the Edge of Forever,” came the addition of Nathan Ritholz on guitar as well as a collective yearning amongst the members for creative growth by exploring digital synthesis beyond the sole use of the 8-bit hardware as a means of composition.
The group creates multi-chapter electronic anthems inspired by the hopefulness of the space age tinged by the dark feelings that arise in the members when faced with the prospect that the human race may not find it’s way in to forever. Additionally the band creates accompanying visuals for their live shows (performed by or with the help of artist Jean Y. Kim) that clearly illustrate the members’ love of skateboarding and the bands obsession with the aesthetic of the Italo Disco / Space Synth era.”

Oh, and as a bonus…here’s the remix of Wayfinder by Makeup And Vanity Set, who did the 88:88 soundtrack which we love and wrote about here.
